At Glasshouse Dance Collective (GDC), our ethos is collaboration. We look past the traditional structures and hierarchies of conventional companies — in our space, everyone’s voice is valued and every artistic idea gets room to grow.
GDC exists to give passionate creatives a space to experiment and work alongside like-minded artists. We’re here to make performance happen — for dancers, for choreographers, and for the Illawarra community. Accessibility and affordability sit at the heart of that drive, both for the artists making the work and the audiences watching it.
Mara Glass founded the non-profit GDC in 2026, after years of working as an independent artist. She started by gathering dancers seeking performance opportunities closer to home, then opened her practice as a platform for emerging choreographers to workshop and stage new work. GDC is an extension of everything she’s worked for — and an open door for the Illawarra’s next generation of artists.
